BATTLEHILL Judo Club travelled to Goole with three students to compete in the Goole U12 and U16 judo championships.

Kieran Tweedy gained a Bronze medal from the u16 u42kg event, whilst Tonicha Brown was runner up in the u16 u57kg category; both groups consisted of very strong Judoka from across the country.

Eleven-year-old Chris Sayers won two from four contests to secure the Bronze medal in the boys u12 u27kg event, winning his last fight with a very impressive side sacrifice technique, Tani Otoshi.

Battlehill Judo Club have recently joined the British Judo Association and are the only club in the Wallsend area to be part of the national governing body for the art of Judo.
