TyneMet Titans advance in BCS National Elite Cup

TyneMet Titans continued their positive run of form by defeating Myerscough College in the second round of the BCS National Elite Cup.

The game was well contested throughout, however, a 13-2 run at the end of the second period allowed the hosts to take a commanding 47-32 lead into the half-time break.

Danny Horta Darrington was again a standout performer for TyneMet with an impressive stat line of 25 points, eight rebounds, three assists, three steals, and three blocks.

Head coach Marc Steutel said: “It was a great team game today from all of our guys.

“Two of players played through illness and injury and it spurred the rest of the team on to try and control the effort levels.

“I thought we executed at the offensive end really well and shared the ball fantastically.”

Horta Darrington said: “I am happy with how we all played today. We are a close group of players and we love playing together.

“Myerscough are a tough team and we are already looking forward to playing them next week.”

Horta Darrington was assisted carrying the scoring load by Eddie Mathew (21 points) and Alan Slasor (14 points).
