Tynemouth Amateur Swimming Club excelled at this year’s Northumberland and Durham County Swimming Championships.
The team finished in top position for points awarded to its age group swimmer – a first for the club in recent years.
And the team came second in the medal table with 26 golds, 24 silvers and 27 bronze medals, just behind Chester-le-Street who went home with 27 golds.
National qualifying times were achieved by Sian Martin, Sophie Brandon and Rachel Helm.
Qualifying times for British Championships/Commonwealth Trials were achieved by Rachel Helm.
Club manager Tracey Booth said: “The team overall were outstanding and should be congratulated not only on this fantastic achievement but their attitude to competing and their support of each other. It was a brilliant effort all-round.”
The gold medals were won by Sophie Brandon (6), Sian Martin (4), Alfie Kelly, Rachel Helm (2), Will Morris (2), Niamh Page (2), Victoria Donnelly (2), Eliot Snowdon (5), Madeleine Brandon (2).
Silver medallists were Harriet Lee, Sophie Brandon, Sian Martin, Alfie Kelly, Jessica Duff, Emily Boyack-Short, Rachel Helm, Niamh Page, Victoria Donnelly, Henry Willis, Madeleine Brandon, Adam Wilson.
And those taking home a bronze medal were Harriet Lee, Freja Smith, Sian Martin, Alfie Kelly, Jessica Duff, Emily Boyack-Short, Vikram Nadkarni, Victoria Donnelly, Lola Davison, Eliot Snowdon, Leah Martin, James Fewster, Laura Cook, Caitlin Chadwick and Sophie Brandon.
