Tynemouth had the second biggest squad after the host Billingham for the meeting of the club’s Masters squad.

Outstanding results came from Justin Ross in the 50m breaststroke with not only finishing first for the 45-49 age group, but also setting a Tynemouth ASC record.

Other outstanding performances on the day were Taylor Gillyon with two firsts in the woman’s 50m and 200m backstroke.

Jonathan Maclaren was successful in the 50m fly and 50m backstroke, and also with two firsts was Dave Thompson.

But the most outstanding swimmer of the day was Steve Turner, who won four firsts in 50m free, 100m individual medley, 100m free and 200m free.

Tynemouth ASC Masters are always on the lookout for new members, and the club meet on Sunday at noon.
