Tynemouth Cricket Club’s Natwest Cricket Force weekend was a huge success.

Numerous members gave up their time to help out at the club and there was no shortage of volunteers giving a helping hand on various jobs such as collecting leaves, erecting sight screens and painting benches, to name a few.

Head of grounds and repair, John Carr, was delighted with the turnout and the club is looking just about ready for the start of the league season.

Vertem asset management has confirmed it will continue its major sponsorship of the club with a focus on the T20 team who play on Friday nights.

Meanwhile Tynemouth CC girls cricket has enjoyed a very successful four-week training course at Kings Priory School sports hall.

There was a good turnout for the sessions, which were focused on participation and fun.

Outdoor training for the ladies’ squad is about to start soon. Girls/ladies of any age/ability are invited to attend.

Fixtures will be arranged for this season.
