North East Premier League side Tynemouth Cricket Club will start preparations for the 2014 season with a series of indoor sessions on Mondays starting on January 27, from 8pm to 10pm at Kings Priory Academy.

All members or players interested in joining the club are invited to attend. For more information contact club captain Ben Debnam on Ben.debnam@nigelwright.com or by calling 07595 298196.

Last year’s club professional South African Ruhan Pretorius has been re-signed for the 2014 season following his successful stint at Preston Avenue in 2013.

His form in South Africa since his return there in September has been excellent and he is developing into one of the top all rounders in First Class Provincial Cricket for his team, Kwa Zulu Natal Inland.

A Tynemouth spokesman said: “The club wish Ruhan all the best for the rest of his domestic season and look forward to welcoming him back to Tynemouth in April.”

The club also start indoor practices for young players at Hadrian Leisure Centre in Wallsend starting Sunday, February 23.

The under 11 and under 13 practices are 1.30pm to 3pm and the under 15s are 3pm to 4.30pm.
