Tynemouth Cricket Club took another step towards a finals date at Lords, the home of English cricket.

After winning the Northumberland County indoor competition last December, defeating Newcastle in the semi final and Cramlington in the final, they face Durham winners Stockton in the regional final.

Tynemouth won the toss and bowled first, restricting Stockton early on before Ryan Macciocchi took the first wicket after a quick stumping from Sam Robson.

Three quick run outs were followed by Dan Storey taking the final two wickets.

In reply Tynemouth openers Sam Robson and Andrew Smith both reached 25 not out before retiring, allowing Finn Lonnberg and Ryan Macciocchi to see the team home comfortably chasing 82 for the loss of no wicket.

Tynemouth head to Derby for the next stage, with the winners going on to the national finals at Lords.
