Whitley Warriors’ pre-season challenge games get under way later month.

Simon Leach’s side take on Kirkcaldy Kestrels away on August 23 before a home clash with Aberdeen Lynx the following weekend on Sunday, August 31, at Hillheads.

The NIHL North League fixtures are expected to be announced in the near future with Warriors supporters keen to find out just when their side’s first competitive game of the 2014-15 campaign will be and who against.

Looking ahead to the new campaign, Warriors skipper Jamie Tinsley said: “I’m really excited for the new season, we’ve made some good signings such as Dean Holland and the incoming players will make a big difference this year.

“Going into the start of a new season is always interesting as you don’t know what the other teams will have been doing over the close season.

“I’m sure, though, no matter what we’ll give any team a run for their money.”

Whitley’s top scorer from the last season Adam Reynolds is also excited about Warriors’ prospects for the new term.

“I’m looking forward to the season, our new signings have settled in well and we should have a strong team out on the ice,” he said.

“Hopefully we can push all the teams who finished above us last season and improve on the fourth place finish from last year.”

Warriors fans are reminded to keep a close eye on the club’s website for further news ahead of the new campaign.
