WHITLEY Warriors will play National League champions Billingham Stars in a warm-up game ahead of the new season.
The exhibition game at Hillheads on September 2 (face-off at 5pm) is ahead of their opening league game at Coventry a week later.
Coach Garry Dowd said: “It will be a good test for us ahead of the campaign.
“We have some new players and this will give everyone an opportunity to play a competitive game together before the league season begins.
“And I am still hoping to announce a couple of more players will join the squad before we play Billingham.”
However, fans will get an opportunity to speak to Dowd and his players this Sunday when the Whitley Warriors Supporters’ Club hosts a ‘Meet and Greet’ event in the sponsors’ lounge, starting at 5.30pm; entry is free and a buffet is provided.
Meanwhile, the Warriors have confirmed fish restaurant Pantrini’s will continue as the club’s main sponsor for the fourth consecutive season.
“We would like to thank the management at Pantrini’s for their continued support,” said team manager John Crammond.
“To be able to have them as our same main sponsor for four years is testament to the passion of Pantrini’s for local sport and we will be proud to bare their logo on our shirts once again over the next eight months.”
