Despite the 2014-15 season not set to get under way until the autumn, Whitley Warriors have been busy in the close season.

The club’s coaching team of Simon Leach and Dave Holland has been confirmed while 13 players have committed themselves to the coming campaign.

The majority of the players signed up were with Warriors last season, though capturing players such as Richie Lawson, Paul Matthews, Adam Reynolds and Jamie Tinsley so early in the summer break is superb recruitment from the club’s coaching staff.

Warriors have also been able to add the experienced former English Premier League forward Dean Holland to their ranks, which further strengthens their roster.

Top scorer from last season Reynolds, who will be icing for Whitley next term, said he thought the club’s squad was shaping up and he hopes more are still to come.

“The squad is looking really good, so far we have recruited a lot of last year’s team who are all good players, and bringing Dean (Holland) back will be a big signing for us,” he said.

“Hopefully our coach Simon might be able to bring another couple of new faces in as well.

“On a personal note, I’ll always be giving everything I have for the team, and as long as we are getting good results out on the ice I will be happy.”
