Whitley Warriors did not play last weekend as NIHL North scheduling left without a fixture for a three-week spell following the previous weekend’s superb 9-1 home victory over Manchester Minotaurs at Hillheads.

The gap in fixtures has prevented Whitley from taking the momentum from their success against Manchester forward.

However, on a more positive note, Warriors’ injured players such as defencemen Rob Wilson and Paul Matthews will have some extra time to recuperate as the club’s next competitive fixture is on Saturday, November 8, when they travel to the north west to take on Manchester in a NIHL North division one match.

Warriors’ next home game is the following day on Sunday, November 9, when Solway Sharks travel down to Tyneside for a St Andrews Cup game.

Whitley are 4-1 down following the first leg that was held in Dumfries recently and Simon Leach’s side will be looking to overturn the deficit on home ice.

With some free time this week, Warriors’ top scorer from last term Adam Reynolds and alternate captain Dean Holland visited one of the club’s sponsors, Clusters Bespoke Jewellery, in Whitley Bay.
