Wintry conditions for Jack Frost Rally

Several members of Tynemouth and District Motor Sports Club were among the competitors testing their skills at the appropriately named Jack Frost rally.

The Autogas2000ltd Jack Frost Stages Rally 2015, in association with Cartersport, was held at Croft Circuit, near Darlington, on Sunday.

It was the 16th running of the event, which is run over special stages throughout the day with the final two being run in darkness.

And the weather played its part providing sunshine, blizzards, snow and rain.

There was mixed results for the Tynemouth competitors.

The best performance was from Barry Renwick and co-driver Steven Dargan in a Ford Escort. Competing in Class 4 they finished second in the class and 24th overall.

Peter Littlefield was co-driver for John Nicholson, of Hexham, in a Ford Escort. They finished fifth in Class 6 and 53rd overall.

Jon Olds and Stuart Simpson finished 11th in Class 3 and 68th overall in a VW Golf.

Two cars retired. The VW Lupo driven by Michael and Laura Boak retired on stage 8 and the Proton Compact of Michael Davison with co-driver Chris Dodds, of Whickham, was forced out on stage 2.
