THREE ten-year-olds have successfully achieved their karate black belts after three years of both practical and theory training.

Bobbi Tideswell, Macy Russell and Joseph Clayton, who are in the same class at Wallsend’s St Columba’s School, passed a rigorous assessment with flying colours.

The trio train with the Northern Freestyle Karate Association’s Wallsend branch at Burnside School.

And it was a double celebration for the Tideswell family as Bobbi’s nine-year-old brother Stephen was handed a trophy as Manager’s Player of the Year at the Willington Quay and Howdon Boys Club’s Under-10s football team.
