A group of 15 TyneMet College students interested in working in sport attended the National Sports Roadshow in Edinburgh.

The event gives employers, trainers, students and professionals to meet and talk about career opportunities in the sports industries.

Many of the top sporting universities were at the event as well as the British Association of Sport and Exercise Science, Sky Sports, Camp America, Fit for Sport, PE Recruitment, Sports Leaders and some premiership football clubs.

Warick Stephenson, head of care, sport and leisure at TyneMet College, said: “Events such as this are invaluable to our students. The students gain an exciting insight into the world of sporting qualifications and career opportunities.

“Students particularly enjoyed the practical workshops from which they always learn new skills and they also enjoyed attending the seminars given by inspirational and motivational sporting legends.”
