Dreams have come true twice for performing arts students from the borough who have been invited to perform on the main stage at Disneyland Paris again.

The 38 youngsters from Monkseaton-based Bommel Musical Theatre School, will return to Disneyland in October with a programme including excerpts from the hit musicals Wicked, Hairspray, Matilda and Shrek.

The local youngsters satisfied the judges that the quality of their performance met the high standard expected at Disneyland Paris resort and reflected the audience’s expectations.

Principal Stephane Bommel said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the pupils’ talents in front of an international audience and experience the thrill of an opportunity of a lifetime.

“My thanks go to such a wonderful group of children and parents at the school. We are all very proud of their fantastic achievements and we are all keenly looking forward to our second showcase at the resort.”

The Bommel Musical Theatre School is sponsored by Whitley-Bay based charity Angels of the North who will be sponsoring a charity fundraising musical concert at The Sage, Gateshead on Monday, July 7, featuring the 400 young talented singers.
