A Wallsend singer has won a top US music award for one of his tracks.
Two of Junior Turner’s songs made it through to the final seven in the ‘Best Pop Song’ category on an United States music channel.
And Junior, who is signed to independent record label, Alexis Records, took the prize home for his Save Me song.
The final awards ceremony of the Indie Music Channel Awards was held on Sunday night at the world famous Whiskey GoGo bar in Hollywood, where Junior, real name David, picked up the major accolade.
Junior managed to get two nominations with Save Me and Loveblind in the last seven nominations for the award category out of more than 1,000 songs entered.
Junior said: “This is my biggest achievement to date and now I am ready to move forward and see how far I can take this journey.”
North east blues singer Trevor Sewell, who also picked up awards on the night, collected Junior’s award on his behalf.
