An artist’s exploration of fabric and its structure is the lastest exhibition impressing passersby at Tynemouth Metro Station.

Jackie Sewell’s exhibition, ‘Progression’, investigates how she adapts the traditional techniques of weaving to everyday items, marrying them together to create an alternative type of fabric.

The exhibition will run at The Bridge Gallery, Tynemouth station, until Sunday, September 15.

Having recently completed her Fine Art degree at Northumbria University, Jackie now works from her studio at B&D Studios, Newcastle.

Jackie, 48, who has lived in Tynemouth all her life, said: “Tynemouth village and station has become a very vibrant hub of talent, creativity and entrepreneurialism.

“I would like to think the work in the station is engaging, aesthetically pleasing and is accessible.”
