THE cream of television and performing talent has descended on the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle to kick-start the Dancing on Ice Live Tour 2012 shows.
Featuring a host of famous names and faces, including Chico from the X Factor and Matthew Wolfenden from Emmerdale, it promises to be a spectacular show.
And following Matthew’s impressive score of 58.5 out of 60 in the final, watched by more than eight million people, he will headline the Dancing on Ice Live Tour, taking centre stage in arenas across the UK.
Seven celebrities from this year’s ITV1 show will be performing on the tour.
Joining Matthew and runners-up Jorgie Porter and Chico are Olympic skier Chemmy Alcott, actress Jennifer Ellison, Coronation Street actor Andy Whyment, Sugababe Heidi Range and 2011 Dancing on Ice champion Sam Attwater, a West End performer who had TV roles in EastEnders and Hollyoaks.
They will have to impress the judging panel, which features Olympic champion Robin Cousins, actor and panto star Christopher Biggins, ice dancer Karen Barber and Dancing on Ice champion from 2007, former England rugby union international Kyran Bracken.
All the celebrities are trained and choreographed by Olympic champions Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, who will also perform routines choreographed exclusively for the live tour.
NewsGuardianTV headed down to watch the celebrities train and speak to a few of them ahead of their first show.
