I THINK it’s fair to say that the latest installment of the Twilight saga could have been total drivel, and fans would have still flocked to see it.
It’s also fair to say that despite a lot of reviews claiming it to be just that, I feel I have to defend the film.
In The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) are forced to deal with the consequences brought on by a marriage, honeymoon, and the birth of a half-human, half-vampire child.
While it’s not without it’s plot flaws, this latest offering still has the same sparkle that has made the saga the success story that it is.
For me it’s one of the best Twilight films to date, it’s dark, it’s romantic, and ultimately, it’s completely horrifying.
Within the first ten seconds of the film Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) gets his shirt off, and from there on it’s two hours of the usual Twilight strangeness that fans have come to know and love.
Despite getting married and it being the happiest day of her life, Bella still looks miserable, and seems only happy when Jacob is around, which does make me seriously question her decisions, but that aside, it was a really enjoyable film.
It’s hard to actually say a lot about the film without giving it away, but the unforeseen and shocking development for Jacob, is for me really makes this film what it is.
And no matter what happens, and it’s pretty obvious now anyway, I’ll still always be Team Jacob.
