AN INTERNATIONAL act have been recreating one of their favourite scenes as they build up to performing in Whitley Bay.

Charlie & Lola will perform the Best Bestest Play at Playhouse Whitley Bay next month as part of a UK tour.

And in the build up, the puppets were on the Newcastle Quayside recreating their picture from spending Christmas in Sydney.

The duo were invited to spend Christmas at Sydney Opera House as part of a seven week run of the play.

Now, Watershed Productions are presenting the BBC Worldwide and Polka Theatre production of the play, based on the character created by Lauren Child, to audiences across the UK.

The stars of the hit BBC TV series and books by Lauren Child are brought to life by a magical mix of puppets, live action and music, with specially-made puppets and the instantly recognisable voices from the TV series.

The play follows Charlie and Lola through everyday activities such as tidying their rooms and getting ready for bed.

Charlie and Lola’s Best Bestest Play will be at the Playhouse from Sunday, April 17, to Tuesday, April 19. Tickets cost from £9 and are available from www.playhousewhitleybay.co.uk or by calling 08442 772771.
