A local performer is stepping into the spotlight to direct and perform in the first concert to be hosted at Whitley Bay’s newest community venue.

From Screen to Stage’ is the brainchild of musical theatre actress Caroline Sabiston and will take place at the Jam Jar Cinema from November 13 to 16.

The 24-year-old, from Whitley Bay, has been working with close friend, and cinema director, Daniel Ellis to make the dream a reality.

Caroline will be joined by performers Kirsty Cartwright and Jordan Lee Davies, the latter of which rose to fame after gaining a place in Team Will.i.am on BBC1 show ‘The Voice’. Also taking part will be Afnan Iftikar, from North Shields, who made it to the live finals of ITV show ‘Superstar’.

Jordan said: “Coming from a small town in the Rhondda Valleys myself, I understand the importance of getting live theatre and music into the community.

“I am looking forward to performing some of the classics from stage and screen”

From Stage to Screen is a live concert featuring music from the movies. Tickets – £14 or £10 concessions – are available from the cinema box office or online at www.jamjarcinema.com
