Christ Church in North Shields is celebrating its 345th anniversary of consecration this weekend.
On Saturday a Summer Fair will be held at the Parish Centre in Preston Road from 10am, and as part of the ‘Window Restoration Appeal’ a brand new selection of cards and bookmarks will be available.
The church tower will be open between 10 am and noon and the bellringers will be answering questions and giving demonstrations.
An art exhibition by Preston Grange Art Club will also take place.
On Sunday there will be a special service to mark the anniversary and the first celebration of Holy Communion.
