Up-and-coming indie singer-songwriter Barns Courtney will be going for gold, and possibly a bit of glitter too, at Think Tank in Newcastle next week.

The Suffolk-born performer, tipped for big things by the likes of BBC Radio 1, can be seen at its Digital Venue, in Times Square, along with Fletcher Jackson, on Monday, February 8.

Tickets cost £6.60. For details, go to https://em.seetickets.com/promoter/ssd-concerts/9445/list

Courtney – billed as offering an eclectic mix of US blues-rock, hip-hop and grunge with British indie melodic sensibilities in a hybrid US-British twang – has already played support slots for the Libertines and Ed Sheera and has further such stints lined up with the Who a week on Saturday at London’s Wembley Arena, for the Duke Spirit on Wednesday, February 24, at the capital’s Islington Assembly Hall and for Kitty, Daisy and Lewis at various venues.

The 25-year-old’s only release to date is Glitter and Gold, a download-only single put out in November and used to soundtrack an ITV teaser advert over the festive period for the channel’s next round of dramas, but an EP, as yet untitled, is scheduled to follow next month.
