ASHINGTON and District Male Voice Choir have started rehearsals for a full programme of concerts

The choir is now on the look out for new members as it prepares for a series of concerts around the region up to the turn of the year.

Choir chairman Bob Brind said: “The choir’s growing reputation has resulted in many more invitations to perform and concerts are scheduled for Bedlington, Stakeford, Newbiggin, Felton, Ellington, and Ashington and these are all this year. “A number of requests have already been received for further performances in the new year when there will also be rehearsals for the North East Area Concert of Massed Choirs in April at The Sage.”

Prospective new members will be made welcome at rehearsals, which are held at Ashington Community High School on Thursdays at 7pm, and no previous experience is necessary other than an interest in singing and a wish to sing.

The choir hopes to have its own website in the near future and is also working towards producing a CD for audience members to be able to buy at the end of shows.
