Dancing, music and drumming are set to have audiences enthralled at a north east theatre.
Events kick off tonight (Thursday) with the Mugenkyo Taiko drummers at The Playhouse, Whitley Bay.
Mugenkyo are the UK’s most successful touring taiko group, renowned for their high-octane energy, contemporary look and sound, and gritty passionate style.
They will be joined by Japan-based Wadaiko Tokara, who has a reputation of speed, precision and mesmerising martial power, with leader Art Lee winning prestigious awards for his electrifying Odaiko (big drum) performance.
On Saturday Breakin’ Convention will be back at the Playhouse, following a first visit in 2014, for an evening of hip hop dance theatre.
Hosted by the hip hop musical theatre legend Jonzi D, the groundbreaking show includes DJs, dancers, live aerosol art, MCs and freestyle sessions throughout the performance.
And while top names will be on stage, local acts Battalions Crew, Custom Breaks, Dance Jam and Flava Bay are also taking part.
Both shows start at 7.30pm.
Tickets can be booked online at www.playhousewhitleybay.co.uk or by calling 0844 2481588.
