A former finalist in the Leeds International Piano competition will be performing in North Shields tomorrow.

Yuma Osaki, a pianist from Tokyo, will kick-off the Master Musicians’ recitals with a bang when she appears at Christ Church on Friday.

Described as having fingers with the power to inspire, her programme will include the 4 Impromptus Op. 90 by Schubert, the Op. 58 Sonata by Chopin, and the Mephisto Waltz No. 1 by Liszt.

She has performed with orchestras such as the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa, the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra and The Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra.

The recital begins at 7.30pm and admittance is £9.

The Master Musicians have a packed schedule of recitals throughout 2016 and are looking forward to a variety of performances, with Yuma providing a brilliant
start.
