PERFORMERS looking for the big break in the music world are preparing to take part in the regional final of a showcase competition.
Musicians are rehearsing for the regional final of Live and Unsigned 2011 – all in a bid to be signed.
The best auditions from the region will then get the opportunity to play support slots with a selection of major headlining acts.
The overall winner will land a recording and management contract with Future Music with an investment of up to £50,000.
Among those taking part in the final at the Journal Tyne Theatre on Sunday, March 13, is songstress Samantha Smith, from Harrogate.
Samantha battled against hundreds of others to secure a spot in the live shows and now has the opportunity to prove she is among the best in the region.
Chris Grayston, events director of Live and Unsigned, said: “Live and Unsigned is all about originality, live ability and credibility.
“We don’t accept demos or submissions and everyone auditions live.
