WHITLEY BAY FC won awards for their achievements on and of the field at the Northern League's annual dinner and presentation night at Ramside Hall, near Durham on Friday.
For the second year running, Lee Kerr was named Northern League Young Player of the Year, a worthy achievement after scoring more than 30 goals last season and becoming only the sixth player ever to score 100 goals for the Club.

Midfielder Paul Robinson, who has enjoyed a tremendous first season at Hillheads, was named runner-up in the Player of the Year category.

The Arthur Clark Memorial Award was won by Whitley Bay secretary Derek Breakwell, for services to football and the Northern League.

A life-long supporter of the club, Derek is also a member of the Northern League management committee and as club secretary, he has the role at Hillheads that was held in the 1960s by Arthur Clark, who later went on to become Northern League Chairman.

Commenting after the presentation, Derek said that he was very surprised and honoured to receive the award.
