MURIEL GREEN'S letter (News Guardian letters, June 25) brings about a sense of deja-vu with her fictional Liberal Democrat led coalition frustrating the work of the Mayor.
Those with long memories will remember Chris Morgan's leaflets while Mayor asserting that he was being frustrated by said coalition and then John Harrison doing the same.

Although to be fair when Muriel took over as Labour group leader this stoppe
d and now that she's been dumped it has started again.

Curious then how John Harrison was able to force through the new Civic Centre, despite his election promise not to have one, when councillors from all parties were opposed to it.

Perhaps Muriel is genuinely unable to tell the difference between the Liberal Democrat calls for all council members to work together and the demands from John Harrison's demands that everyone obey his whim without question, but there is a difference.

Still, as Labour are professing themselves unable to see the difference I look forward to them obeying Linda Arkley without question as she claims they will 'play as full a role as possible'.

DAVID ORD
North Tyneside Councillor.
