AS part of National Bike Week and to mark the official launch of the six new Tyne and Wear and south east Northumberland Cycle Maps we teamed up with the Chris Lucas Cancer Charity Trust, Cobalt Business Park and Sustrans to organise a 16 mile return Cycle Ride on Saturday, June 21.
The ride was from Cobalt Business Park to South Beach Blyth and back.
Almost 500 folk took part and at the halfway point all riders were able to collect a T-shirt and copies of the new cycle maps for North Tyneside, south east Northumberland and Newcastle.

Special thanks must go out to the participants and a big thank you to those who took part in the planning and implementation of the events, including The Cobalt Business Park; Sustrans (Get Moving North Tyneside Project); Hillheads Farm; Northumbrian Water; Whiptail Cycles; Elected Mayor John Harrison; Waggonways Team; Sustrans Rangers; and the St John Ambulance Brigade.

GRAEME CLARK
Cycling Projects Officer,
North Tyneside Council,
The Quadrant, Cobalt.
