THROUGH the letters pages of the News Guardian, I would like to say a big thank you.
When, five months ago, Paul Irwin of East Coast Taxis proposed at a Chamber of Trade meeting that we should produce a "Whitley Bay Guide", all our members thought it was an excellent idea. Paul said he would put the guide together with the help of hi
s friend and fellow Chamber member Chris Wilson, a graphic designer.

Paul promised us all that they would do a good job, and the guide would help to attract more visitors to the town. He said we would not be disappointed with the result. The guide is now published and it has exceeded all our expectations. It is absolutely fantastic and this is only the first edition.

I would now like to take this opportunity to thank Paul and Chris publicly for their efforts. It has taken a great deal of their time. I would also like to thank the many other people who have played their part to ensure that we have a town guide we can be really proud of.

If Whitley Bay could award the Freedom of the Town to individuals for excellent service to the town, Paul and Chris would certainly be good candidates.

Once again, many thanks for producing an excellent guide – well done the lads!

ALAN MOSES
Chairman,
Whitley Bay Chamber of Trade
