THE long suffering residents of Hadrian Park have been severely disadvantaged by the change in bus services brought in earlier this year.
Ward councillors have been in consultation with Nexus since the change to see if an alternative service can be provided.

Nexus have come up with a shoppers/ community bus service operating from Hadrian Park to take passengers to places like Morris
ons, Rake
Lane etc. The cost of this service is about £26,000 per year.

Nexus have put up half the money and have asked the council to put up the rest. A meeting was arranged for a council officer to meet with
Nexus two weeks ago but was cancelled by the officer at short notice.

To date I'm not aware of an alternative meeting being arranged!
Perhaps someone from the council could respond to my letter through the News Guardian to let residents know if they will put the £13,000 required to get this vital service up and running or, if they can't provide the money, come up with an alternative service for the Hadrian Park residents!

COUNCILLOR CHRIS CROFT
LibDem Councillor,
Battle Hill Ward,
North Tyneside Council.
