The team at 34 Design Company have renovated and expanded their restoration and joinery workshop.

During its period of closure from March to June, the team renovated and expanded their restoration and joinery workshop after seeing demand for restoration of furniture increase towards the end of 2019 and into 2020.

Managing director Jamie Gibson said: “As well as our kitchen showroom, we also have a restoration and joinery workshop where we take old furniture and bring it back to its original quality.

“Our customers are always thrilled to see their beloved items restored and it brings us great satisfaction to know that they will get many more years of use rather than them going to waste.

“We can also create bespoke furniture items from scratch, helping our customers achieve their ideal interior design finish.

“Expanding our workshop and adding an office has enabled us to take on even more joinery and restoration work, which has been fantastic for us during the pandemic to help us get back on our feet following the lockdown.

“We have also been fortunate enough to take on a design assistant at our kitchen showroom as well as sponsoring a local sports team, North Shields Hockey Club.

“Now more than ever it is so important to support local people, clubs and businesses to help our area and economy through this challenging time.

Jamie Gibson says of this image: "The black and white photo is the old mining workshops for Backworth Colliery and the flat roofed workshops in the middle of the image are the ones we have now renovated and turned back into a workshop and office for our business."

“We are very grateful for the continued support for our small business and hope to keep growing and improving despite Covid-19.”
