AN AUTHOR is looking for contributions for his latest book marking an anniversary of a pit disaster.

Keith Armstrong, of Whitley Bay, is editing a book on behalf of North Tyneside Council to mark the 150th anniversary of the Hartley Pit Calamity of 1862.

He is looking for creative writing, artwork, photographs and historical documents on the theme.

Any contributions should be sent to Dr Armstrong, by the end of September, to Northern Voices Community Projects, 93 Woodburn Square, Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear, NE26 3JD.
