Whitley Bay air hostess Cheryl Moody is coming into land at Newcastle’s Tyne Theatre and Opera House next week as she takes centre stage in a new musical production.
The budding actress will take the lead role in Legally Blonde the Musical and follow in the footsteps of Sheridan Smith, who played the role on the West End.
The hit Broadway transfer, which became available for amateur dramatic groups last year, is being performed by the West End Musical Theatre Company which has a series of members from across North Tyneside.
The musical is based on the hit film starring Reese Witherspoon. But this stage adaption is full of catchy and hilarious music, following the trials and tribulations of Elle Woods, a Delta Nu sorority girl who followers her lover Warner to Harvard Law School to prove she is ‘Serious’ about his love.
As she heads to her new school, she soon realises she might not be up for the job after all. But, throw in some sorority girls, a law professor who’s out to impress and a murderous fitness queen and you have the ultimate recipe for an exciting theatrical evening.
The production also stars Ailson Gilroy as Brooke and Caroline Sabiston as Vivienne who are also from Whitley Bay. The show runs from Tuesday, November 24 until Saturday, November 28. Tickets from £13.20.
