Choir to sing for local charity

A NORTH Shields-based choir is preparing to perform its first charity concert next month.

In Accord has recently celebrated its first anniversary, and will be taking to the stage at the Baptist Church in Howard Street, North Shields, on June 11, at 7.30pm, for the concert entitled Why We Sing.

The performance is in aid of Breathe Easy, a part of the British Lung Foundation, based in Wallsend, that provides extra equipment for patients in Ward 17 at North Tyneside General Hospital.

The programme includes a wide variety of music from classical to musicals, with support from Tuttie-Flutey.

Tickets priced at £6 are available from members of the choir, or by calling (0191) 252 3919, with proceeds going to Breathe Easy.
