A 25-year-old woman has this evening been charged with the murder of North Tyneside man James Prout, whose body was found on open ground near his Percy Main home yesterday.
Anne Corbett, 25, of Percy Main, has been charged with the murder of 43-year-old Mr Prout and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Police have also charged three other people in connection with the murder investigation.
Zahid Zaman, 42, Myra Wood, 49, and Kay Rayworth, 55, all of Percy Main, have been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
A 26-year-old man from Ashington has been bailed pending further enquiries.
