A bit of Disney magic is heading to North Shields.
As part of Disney Cruise Lines’ 12-night British Isles cruise, the Disney Magic will be visiting the Port of Tyne on Tuesday, June 7.
Although the ship is not open for visitors, it will be possible to catch a glimpse of it at popular viewing points on the river.
During both visits on June 7, and Sunday, June 19, the estimated arrival time is 6.30am off the piers at Tynemouth while the estimated departure at the piers will be 5.45pm – depending on conditions.
Nolan Gray, Port of Tyne business development director, said: “The Port of Tyne has worked extremely hard to attract visiting cruise lines to our award-winning international passenger terminal in North Shields.
“We are delighted to be one of only two ports in England that Disney Cruise Lines have chosen to include in their itinerary.
“North East England has the regional infrastructure to grow UK departures from the Port of Tyne, and iconic tourist attractions to increase the number of visiting cruise calls. Next year will be another record year for our cruise terminal and over 50 vessels are already booked including Disney Magic – which I’m very pleased to say is returning next July.”
Members of the public are advised that the ship will not be open for visitors and the Port of Tyne has created a helpful map which can be downloaded via the Port’s website which provides suggested viewing points and the ship’s estimated arrival and departure times.
