A charity is hoping residents will have a blooming good time with their latest fundraising initiative.

Marie Curie is calling on people to hold a Blooming Great Tea Party between June 20 and 29 to help raised funds for the charity which provides care and support for people living with a terminal illness.

Last year in North Tyneside, Marie Curie had incredible tea parties and this year they want even more residents to get involved and tell them about their tea-riffic plans.

Every pound raised will enable Marie Curie to help even more people living with a terminal illness which includes those supported directly in North Tyneside through the Marie Curie Hospice Newcastle or patients in their own homes right across the county.

To register or for tea party inspiration, visit www.mariecurie.org.uk/teaparty or call 0800 716 146.

People can follow updates on social media and share photos using #BloomingGreat.

Marie Curie are also looking for enthusiastic volunteers to get involved in other ways such as joining a local fundraising group in the area.

Meeting on a regular basis, fundraising groups are local representatives co-ordinating and supporting fundraising in the local area.

Charlotte Campbell, community fundraiser for Marie Curie, said: “We are currently looking for volunteers in the North Shields and Wallsend area to join our new and exciting fundraising group.

“Are you organised, creative or love meeting new people? Or all three? Then we want to hear from you.”
