Appeal after items stolen during burglary

A number of items were stolen during a burglary in North Shields.

A house in Kenton Road was broken into between 5pm on Thursday, March 3, and 4pm the following day, with a quantity of cash, jewellery and a laptop computer stolen.

Enquiries into the burglary are ongoing and police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Officers will be carrying out patrols in the areas in the coming days but are appealing for homeowners to be on the look out for any suspicious people hanging around neighbourhoods and houses.

Residents are also advised to ensure they lock their doors, remove all valuables from view through windows and doors and make sure their homes are secure.
