Sarah, 20, of Wallsend, said: “My mum has suffered from MS for many years, and the condition has affected her a lot recently.

“I really wanted to do something to show how much she means to me but also contribute in some way to helping her in the future.

“It was a fantastic event, held in an amazing venue, which raised a lot of money for a great cause.”

The fundraiser was held at Wallsend’s Town Hall Chambers, where Sarah works for Executype PA as a customer service administrator.

More than 100 people attended the event, featuring a live band and a raffle.

Sarah added: “I was so grateful for all of the help provided by the Town Hall Chambers and for hosting the event. I know my mum was extremely proud and grateful for all the support.”

Beginning 2 End Occasions, another business based at the venue, helped Sarah to organise the event.

The raffle prizes on offer included a Valentine’s night dinner, afternoon tea, bottles of wine and cinema, hairdressing and shopping vouchers.
