Armed robber steals cash from store

An armed robber stole cash from a shop in Wallsend.

The man, armed with a knife, entered Rosehill General Store, in Northumberland Terrace, and demanded cash.

He then left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Staff were left shaken by the incident but otherwise uninjured.

The offender is described as being 5ft ins inches tall, aged in his 20s and of a medium build.

He was wearing a grey coloured hooded top which was zipped up.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnesses to the robbery, which happened at 7.45pm on Tuesday, August 4.
