A special auction is being held to raise funds to develop the sensory areas of a care home in North Tyneside.
Howdon Care Centre in Kent Avenue in Howdon, is holding the auction to raise cash for residents and their families to enjoy as part of the home’s specialised dementia care programme.
The PEARL (Positively Enriching And enhancing Residents’ Lives) programme, is an accredited programme specifically designed by Four Seasons Health Care to ensure that the centre is providing the most up to date training, communication and person centred care for people with dementia.
Sharon Pearson of Devon-based Arada Stoves, became aware of the programme and donated an Aarrow Ecoburn 5 Plus Log Burner to be auctioned for all funds to go directly to the home.
The stove has an retail price of of £839, and is to be auctioned with a reserve of £400 through auction site, eBay for seven days from October 12.
