Two authors are to talk about their careers as part of a special event.
Stephanie Butland and Debbie Taylor will be at the North Shields Customer First Centre on Tuesday, May 19, as part of the Read Regional campaign.
The campaign – from March to June – will celebrate ten exciting new books from the north of England.
Among the titles on the 2015 campaign include Herring Girl, the critically-acclaimed new novel from Ms Taylor.
Ms Butland said: “I’m honoured and excited to be a part of the campaign.
“Writers are nothing without readers – I love to hear what they think! At my events I’ll aim to give honest insight into the writing life, and to answer all questions, great and small.”
Ms Taylor added: “I love the intimate informal atmosphere of a library reading, where there’s a real opportunity to interact with the audience.
“You never know who you’re going to meet, or what questions they’ll come up with.”

Claire Malcolm, chief executive of New Writing North, said: “New Writing North has enjoyed working with libraries to promote books and authors for many years.
“The Read Regional project grew out of our desire to offer more to both libraries and authors and to connect communities of readers across the North in an enjoyable way.”
