A popular face at Whitley Bay Football Club was centre of attention as friends and family helped celebrate his birthday.
The club held a party to celebrate the 80th birthday of long-serving stalwart Tommy Moody.
Tommy has been a tremendous servant to the club for well over 30 years.
He was secretary for ten years and later became a director.
For years he ran the canteen and souvenir shop and organised coach travel for supporters, most notably the long distance FA Vase games including the Villa Park final in 2002 and all three finals at Wembley.
He is president of the Supporters’ Club having previously served as chairman.
Tommy won the prestigious Northern League Unsung Hero award in 2012 in recognition of his services to North East non league football and Whitley Bay FC in particular.
