Blues band taking to the stage by the seaside
With almost two and a half decades of music and more than 16 albums under their belts, the Blues Band are set to go down a storm in North Tyneside later this month.
The group continue to add to their followers and are acknowledged throughout Europe and beyond as being amongst the very finest purveyors of rhythm and blues.
They have inspired many others while remaining a constant since they were formed in 1979, and on Friday, February 12, they promise to play with both maturity and passion at the Playhouse Whitley Bay.
Made up of Paul Jones, Dave Kelly, Gary Fletcher, Tom McGuinness and Rob Townsend, the band have a loyal fan-base and constantly entertain crowds across the country and beyond.
Their first album, The Official Blues Band Bootleg Album, initially attracted no interest from major record companies, so they pressed a limited run of 1,000, hand-stamped their logo on the sleeve and signed them.
After unqualified endorsement from BBC Radio 1, media interest resulted in a recording contract with Arista Records, who re-released the album under the same title, and they have gone from strength to strength since.
They will perform at 7.30pm. Tickets are £20. To book, visit www.playhousewhitleybay.co.uk
