Borough contact centres scoop awards

WORKERS from contact centres in North Tyneside are celebrating after enjoying success at the region’s annual industry awards.

Convergys Customer Management UK Ltd, which is based at Cobalt Business Park, was the big winner after its HR and Recruitment team was named Contact Centre Team of the Year.

The team picked up the prize at the North East Contact Centre of the Year Awards for the improvements it has delivered by putting into place creative, innovative and leading edge ideas.

Adding to the company’s success, Convergys was also named as a runner-up in the North East Outsourced Contact Centre of the Year category.

The awards, organised by Tyne and Wear Development Company in association with NRG Group, celebrate the success of an industry that employs approximately 60,000 people and is one of the most significant sectors in the regional economy.
