Residents around the borough did something funny for money to help raise funds for Red Nose Day.
Various fundraising events and activities were held by schools, businesses and individuals last Friday to boost funds for the national charity.
Shoppers at the Beacon Centre, in North Shields raised £75 in a couple of hours by pulling silly faces or having their faces painted, with the best ones making it to their Facebook page.
Centre manager Dave Menzies said: “We are delighted the community got behind this event.”
At St Mary’s RC Primary School, in Cullercoats, pupils Louise Brophy, Rosie Pang and Juliette Henzell-Hill spent the week hairstyling their friends for a £1 charge.
