Bucket collection was huge success

Members of the North Tyneside and Coastal Fundraising Branch of Guide Dogs would like to thank everyone who helped to make the bucket collection, held in Sainsbury’s, West Monkseaton, on Saturday, October 19, such a huge success.

In only four hours, £533.57 was raised for a charity whose aim is to provide mobility for blind and partially sighted people.

The four excellently behaved working guide dogs greeted everyone with wagging tails, showing just how happy they are in their work.

The event was further enhanced by a brief appearance of puppy Ida, aged 11 weeks, who was shopping at the store with her puppy walker, Jackie – all part of the training and a happy coincidence for all the collectors.

Thanks also go to Sainsbury’s for allowing the collection and for all the help they give through their “Helping Hand” service.
