A business set up by a couple to help their son dream big is marking its fifth anniversary.
Baby and childrenswear clothing brand Rusk & Rebels was formed in 2011 by Gayle Westgarth and fiancé Matt Birch from their Whitley Bay home.
They were motivated by the possibility of the brand leading to future employment for their son Dylan, 14, who has a rare chromosome disorder Williams Syndrome.
It means Dylan is living with the height, educational and emotional development of a six-year-old, leaving him with an uncertain future in terms of employment.
To mark five years, Gayle and Matt are launching a local personal shopping experience within people’s homes.
Gayle is hosting a business opportunity evening on June 28 at 7pm at Olives at the Station, Whitley Bay, for anyone interested in becoming a R&R brand consultant.
Anyone interested should email firstname.lastname@example.org to register their interest.
Gayle said: “The business is continuing to go from strength to strength and we are delighted to be celebrating our fifth birthday having recently moved into new business premises within North Tyneside.
“This expansion of the Rusks & Rebels brand into the direct sales market will not only help create future employment for those looking at a fun and flexible career within the Rusks & Rebels family but also Dylan in a few years time.”
